Würth Industry North America has announced a plan to establish a distribution centre in Columbus, Ohio, the US.
The US$42.5 million investment plan will enable Würth Industry North America to acquire a 472,000-square-foot facility, with room for an additional 500,000 square feet of future expansion to accommodate growth.
The plan will also be able to create up to 160 new full-time jobs.
The project will be part of Würth Industry’s commitment to delivering faster service while enhancing product availability and offering improved operational efficiency for its customers nationwide.
Meanwhile, the Columbus facility will represent a major expansion of Würth Industry’s capabilities to deliver solutions to their growing customer base and will stock the full product assortment, including industrial supplies, safety equipment and fastening materials.
“Columbus offers a strategic advantage for Würth Industry’s expansion, with its central location, robust infrastructure, and access to a skilled workforce. This facility will allow us to better serve our customers across the US through enhanced distribution capabilities,” said Bastian Rottenberg, CEO of Würth MRO, Safety & Metalworking, a division of Würth Industry North America.
“The City of Columbus continues to show how quickly we can turn challenges into opportunities. In just a short time, our team has worked to ensure that a facility left vacant by one company is now home to another growing business. Würth Industry’s investment brings high-quality jobs and strengthens Columbus’ position as a leader in logistics and distribution,” said Andrew J. Ginther, mayor of Columbus.
