The Würth Group’s Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG has started operating a new distribution centre at its headquarters in Künzelsau-Gaisbach.
The state-of-the-art logistics centre is fully integrated into Würth’s existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and minimising delivery splits for customers.
With the addition of the new distribution centre, Würth has expanded its picking and storage capacities by 37%. The highly automated shuttle system, equipped with over 104,000 container storage spaces, will enable the processing of approximately 48,000 extra order lines per day at full capacity.
An advanced conveyor system seamlessly connects the new facility to the existing logistics centres, optimising efficiency and workflow.
“The expansion of the Distribution Center West is an important step towards further enhancing the reliability of our logistics. With this investment, we will remain competitive and strengthen the Hohenlohe region, in which our company is firmly rooted,” said Reinhold Würth, Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group.
As part of its strategic logistics development, the Würth Group aims to achieve a 75% automation level in its highest-revenue companies by 2030. Leveraging AI and robotics, the company is enhancing automation and digitalisation across its operations. This cutting-edge technology not only ensures reliable deliveries in the future but also reduces packaging and filler materials by 30%.
Last month, the company announced its preliminary financial results for 2024.
