The extensive catalogue of Rivit includes the structural rivets Lockriv and Magnariv, together with riveting tools specifically designed for their application, such as the 500 Series.
Rivit proposes two types of structural rivets that allow fastening by means of mechanical mandrel locking and high shear and tensile strength. These are the Lockriv and Magnariv models, used in automotive, industrial bodywork, construction, household appliances, air treatment machines, and in all those sectors where the assembly of parts subject to vibration is required. For the fastening of these large rivets, the recommended riveting tools are those of the 500 Series, hydro-pneumatic, powerful and high-performance riveting tools.
Characterised by a deformation through compression, forming a large counter head on the riveted material, Lockriv are the ideal structural rivets for riveting onto aluminium, ensuring a solid anchorage of the rivet, a large hole diameter tolerance and high shear and tensile strength. Available in aluminium, zinc plated steel and AISI 304 stainless steel, these rivets cover diameters 4.8 mm, 6.4 mm and 7.8 mm. Lockriv can also be used in photovoltaics where they can be installed using the RIV508, RIV506 and RIV504 hydro-pneumatic riveting tools.
When pulling the mandrel, the predefined yield points of the Lockriv body are compressed by the head of the mandrel, creating a washer that compacts the materials with a strong grip.
Magnarivs are structural rivets that are ideal for replacing traditional fastening technologies such as nut-bolts, rivets and welds as they are suitable for applications on components subject to vibration. Extremely versatile, Magnariv can be used to assemble components with different thicknesses. Also, in the case of Magnariv, the mandrel is clamped from within the material to be riveted. In the act of pulling the mandrel, the bevelled cylindrical head wedges inside the body, creating a grip based on the radial expansion force of the body inside the hole of the material to be riveted.
These rivets are available in diameters 4.8 mm, 6.4 mm, and 9.8 mm and in the following materials: aluminium, zinc plated steel and stainless steel. For larger diameters it is advisable to use a hydro-pneumatic riveting tool with booster such as the RIV511B, which can guarantee the application of large rivets.
