Five adventurous employees from TR Fastenings are gearing up to scale the UK’s three highest mountains this month, in a bid to raise £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.
‘The TRekkers’, who work in the sales, purchasing and the quality departments at the company’s headquarters in Uckfield, East Sussex and are aged between 24 and 52, will attempt to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales within a 48-hour period, which will require 27 miles of hiking and a combined ascent of 3,000 metres.
“We wanted to do a physical challenge as a team, and the Three Peaks Challenge looked ideal,” said Rob Hall, who will be accompanied by colleagues Steve Wallis, Daniel Reardon, Ross Delmon and Nick Hardstone, plus Andy Dawes who will be the driving the trekkers during the 1,400 miles total round trip. Hall added: “We aim to be the first TR team to complete the challenge but hopefully not the last!”
TR Fastenings is supporting the intrepid adventurers by providing suitable transport and also matching any donations up to £1,000.
The staff will begin their challenge on Friday 22nd July. To help sponsor the team, please visit www.justgiving.com and search TR Fastenings.
