Corby-based Technifast has extended its manufacturing capabilities to include a diverse range of self-tapping inserts.
The expanded range incorporates self-cutting threaded inserts, blind self-tapping inserts and through-tapped metric OD inserts, which are manufactured by the firm to customer drawing or specifications.
The inserts range in size from M3 to M12 and can be manufactured in steel, stainless steel 303, marine-grade stainless steel 316 and brass. The internal and external threads can be adapted to suit a customers’ particular requirement.
“This upgrade of our insert manufacturing capabilities demonstrates our ability to respond to the demands of today’s markets,” said Technifast MD Louis Speed. “We are seeing an increasing amount of enquiries from composite companies, especially in the marine industry, and our blind self-tapping inserts were specifically developed for use in marine applications where fluid ingression along the internal thread could be an issue’.
