Mott MacDonald has announced that it has appointed Simon Pierce as director of façade engineering where he will lead the UK façades team.
Pierce will be joining the company from Eckersley O’Callaghan, where he previously developed the global façade team’s capability and capacity, while leading on globally recognised developments including the Skolkovo Sberbank Technopark in Moscow and the Stamford Bridge Stadium redevelopment in Fulham.
Based in the central London office, Pierce will be working with Clive Atkinson as part of Mott MacDonald’s 50-strong globally located façade team. Strengthening the delivery of façade services from inception to delivery, he brings an emphasis on enabling informed decisions regarding technical feasibility, commercial viability and sustainability.
Pierce said: “I’m a passionate advocate of weaving sustainability through all aspects of building design, particularly in respect to net-zero carbon, circularity and resilience. This approach chimes strongly with Mott MacDonald’s values and commitment to improve social outcomes through engineering. I’m excited to get started.”
Colin Aston, divisional manager said: “Simon’s diverse expertise as an engineer and Clive’s experience as a façade designer will capitalise on the broader team’s building science proficiency to advance our platform for holistic building design.”
