NMBS, a buying society in the UK for independent builders, plumbers, hardware and timber merchants, has announced that members of Troy (UK) Limited can transition to it following the news of the latter entering administration.
NMBS is actively collaborating with Troy’s members to provide trading stability, guaranteed rebates and payment security. This initiative ensures that businesses can continue securing the best deals, strengthening supplier and merchant relationships and enhancing operational efficiencies that were previously supported by Troy.
“It is critical that Troy’s independent merchant members and suppliers are not further impacted financially by this news. To ensure this is not the case, we are offering members and suppliers dedicated resources and tailored support to help them through the transition,” said Chris Hayward, CEO of NMBS.
NMBS highlighted that its supplier benefits closely align with those previously offered by Troy. Notably, its centralised invoicing system ensures timely payments by consolidating all member purchases into a single, predictable monthly cycle. This guarantees that suppliers receive prompt and reliable payments directly from NMBS, reducing the risk of late or missed payments. Additionally, NMBS provides a debt guarantee, safeguarding suppliers against potential member defaults.
Troy went into administration recently. It was founded in 1986, serving the engineering, industrial and trade sectors, with a buying group of 400-plus members.
