Oakdene Hollins launches circular economy checklist

Sustainability and circular economy consultancy Oakdene Hollins has published a questionnaire to test businesses’ level of sustainability.

The Circular Economy checklist is straightforward with only one question about the circularity of respondents’ businesses. However, there are 13 answers to choose from, with key questions including whether the respondents have monitored Scope one, two and three emissions, implemented value retention processes (VRPs) and circular business models (CBMs), had science-based targets (SBTs) and emissions reductions strategies and initiatives in place.

Follow-up actions will be taken by Oakdene Hollins after receiving the filled questionnaire.

"Our Circular Economy checklist highlights gaps that may need filling and provides an initial road map towards integrating more robust closed loop and sustainable processes within your organisation,” said Simon Scholes, director of Oakdene Hollins.

“The creation of a circular economy is a key part of an organisation's strategy for growth. Gaining a more rigorous understanding of what it involves, and how it can benefit your business, will position you firmly over and above your competitors,” he added.

Implementing a circular economy within a business can have a long-term positive impact on profitability, local communities, and the broader environment. By focusing on resource retention and maximising product value in a circular system, businesses can achieve a higher return on resources, ultimately strengthening the bottom line.
