Safety boot manufacturer Rock Fall has secured planning permission for a new 5,000 sq ft extension of its "Unit 4", with construction now underway.
The second generation family-owned business - based in Alfreton, Derbyshire - expects completion of the expansion in April. It will allow the firm to hold an additional 200 pallet spaces, totalling more than 20,000 pairs and paving the way for a further ramping up of stock thanks to "sustained demand" on a variety of national contracts".
With rapid expansion of the business underway, the senior management team remains on the look out for a much larger, purpose-built unit in the coming years.
Rock Fall supplies some of the largest companies in the world via a network of authorised distribution partners ranging from small independent safety equipment distributors, FTSE 100 PLCs and multi-national organisations. Major distributors include household names like Bunzl, Travis Perkins, Toolstation, Amazon and Arco.
The senior management team said: “We’ve experienced industry leading growth for a number of years which has been very pleasing, it gives us great confidence to continue to invest in the business and our plans for the future are very exciting. Our system provider shares our ethos of thinking for the long term and have some unbelievable developments underway for robotics technology which could redefine our future order fulfilment processes.”
Among Rock Fall's previous range highlights are what the firm said was the first electrical safety trainers in Europe.
