Makita has launched the Twin 18V LXT Angle Drill: its first cordless drill that matches the power of mains delivery while enjoying the benefit of manoeuvrability.
The cordless Twin 18V LXT is powered by two Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion batteries, which provide 36V power from the Brushless motor. The new angle drill has a no-load speed of up to 1400 rpm in Hi mode and 350 rpm in Lo, complimented by variable speed control.
The addition of Automatic Torque Drive Technology automatically adjusts the drilling speed according to the load conditions to achieve optimum drilling performance. The auto power-off function automatically shuts down if the trigger is not pulled for five minutes.
The cordless Twin 18V LXT features an electric brake and soft start function, which accelerates the motor in to action through reducing the sudden torque load on start-up. The torque limiter will cut the motor drive in the event of the drill bit snagging, to provide operator protection.
The front handle can be installed in any position within 0 – 112.5 degrees for maximum user comfort, control and accessibility in confined spaces. The Twin 18V LXT has a chuck capacity of 2 – 13 mm, capable of drilling up to 13 mm in steel, or 118 mm in Lo and 65 mm in Hi mode when using a self-feed bit in wood.
Ideal for larger timber and steel constructions, the new angle drill has an extended run time and increased power, alongside increased manoeuvrability.
This isn't the first cordless tool Makita has unveiled, recently launching its new 18V LXT Top Handle cordless chainsaw.
