Big Wipes has launched a specially formulated Hand Cream designed for the trade and those that contend with dry skin and cracked, painful hands.
Big Wipes Hand Cream combines urea and alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs) in a high performance treatment cream that promises to rapidly relieve dry and rough skin, helps strengthen the skin’s barrier function and improve its ability to absorb and hold moisture. It is non-greasy and alcohol and fragrance-free and is recommended by dermatologists to increase moisture concentration and improve skin texture, appearance and function, the firm said. Used regularly, Big Wipes added, the Hand Cream helps restore the skin's smoothness, softness and flexibility by helping the skin retain moisture, keeping it soft, supple and youthful – and bringing much needed relief to a dry, cracked skin.
The firm noted that solvents, paints and varnishes all strip the skin of its natural oils and can be difficult to avoid when working out on-site: "Harsh substances can break the skin’s protective barrier and contact dermatitis can develop with symptoms ranging from mild dryness, itching and redness to painful cracks, skin ulcers and red fluid filled blisters. Cracked and broken skin can also allow bacteria to enter the body and nasty infections to take hold."
