In response to market demands and changing customer needs, WASI has expanded its standard product portfolio with duplex steel (1.4462) products.
The duplex grade includes corrosion and acid-resistant steels. They are characterised by a balanced dual-phase microstructure of austenite and ferrite (1:1), combining the best properties of both. Duplex steels also exhibit a high mechanical strength comparable with higher strength structural steels.
WASI said: "Owing to their high chromium and low nickel fractions compared with purely austenitic steels, duplex grades have greater price stability than products with greater nickel content. Their high corrosion resistance and outstanding mechanical properties make them ideal for a wide range of applications."
