NORMA group has won a major contract to supply PS3 quick connectors to an international automotive firm. Close to 10 million cars will be equipped with the quick connectors between 2021 and 2023.
The PS3 connector is made of glass fibre reinforced plastic and will be used in several vehicles produced by the car manufacturer for cooling water systems, including vehicles with internal combustion engine, hybrid and electric vehicles.
“With our products, we contribute to effective cooling in cars with conventional drives, in plug-in-hybrids as well as in pure electric cars,” said CEO of NORMA Group, Dr Michael Schneider. “This major order proves that our products can be used with all drives and that they are competitive in all technologies. We are pleased to expand a long-term partnership with the customer.”
The quick connector is easy to install thanks to its 'Push & Seal' mechanism and low assembly force.
In battery- electric vehicles, the cooling water systems help to increase the performance of the vehicle as they allow the battery to reach its optimal temperature. Due to the advanced cooling requirements in battery-electric vehicles, the number of connectors installed in these vehicles is also higher.
The PS3 quick connectors are produced in the NORMA Group plant in Pilica, Poland, and are easy to install due to its 'Push & Seal' mechanism and low assembly force.
NORMA Group has previously supplied a leading European manufacturer with durable joining products which aid in the repair of trains that have been in service for several years. NORMA has also re-opened a number of its distribution centres to aid in the treatment of Covid-19 by supplying parts for ventilators.
