Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters and officers were called to a large fire at Busy Bee Builders Merchants at Brent Cross, shortly before the Easter weekend.
The company said that following the major fire it will not be able to operate from its Hendon yard for some time, using its Alperton/Wembley depot instead.
According to the London Fire Brigade, a wood working workshop measuring 100m x 20m was badly damaged by the fire. The incident also impacted on rail and road commuters on the nearby M1.
Via its Facebook site, Busy Bee said: "We had a major fire incident at the Hendon yard. Unfortunately the damage is quite extensive and we will not be able to operate from there for a little while. Please bear with us while we try to get back on our feet and back to full operational capability.
"In the meantime we have setup office in the
ALPERTON / WEMBLEY depot, and all of us are still on our emails. The telephone number is 0208 566 8121
"Our trucks are all still running and we will try and take care of all the orders and deliveries from Alperton from today onwards. We apologise in advance if this causes inconvenience, but please know we are doing our best to get operational as soon as possible. Thank you for your support and understanding."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
