H&B has announced Steve Parkins will join the group from 1 May.
Parkins has a wealth of knowledge in the industry and is currently the Procurement Director for CRH Europe Distribution. In previous roles, he has also held Executive Board Procurement Director positions at Grafton Merchanting GB and Saint-Gobain Building Distribution UK.

I aim to bring my experience and structure to the group, whilst still nurturing the individual character of the members and the entrepreneurial spirit that make H&B such a fantastic organisation.”
H&B Chairman Peter Buttle added: “Getting Steve on board is a real coup for us. He brings with him a wealth of experience that will really enhance our existing central organisation. When we recruited Nick Lander we made a real step change as a group, and we believe the two of them together will massively advance our position in the market.”
H&B merchant group was founded 20 years ago and has now grown to over 74 members, with a combined turnover approaching a billion pounds.
Last year H&B acquired the Timber Buying Group (TBG).
