The Federation of British Hand Tool Manufacturers (FBHTM) is to join The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA), with effect from 1 January 2019.
FBHTM will remain as a separate entity under the leadership the current President, Jonathan Collier of Monument Tools Ltd, who will also sit on the BHETA board of directors. BHETA will effectively act as a secretariat for the Federation and all existing members will become members of BHETA and enjoy all the benefits of the Association.
Commenting on the move, Jonathan Collier said: “It makes absolute sense that we get together with BHETA and benefit from all that it has to offer. Of particular interest to us is the increased activity that BHETA has undertaken to promote export and we look forward to our members benefiting from this initiative. We also believe that this move provides a strong platform for future growth.”
Andrew Weiss, Executive Chairman at BHETA, added: “We are delighted to welcome the FBHTM to the BHETA family and are excited at the prospects of what a closer relationship can bring to both organisations and their members. It makes so much sense that associations such as ours to combine resources for the greater benefits of members without losing any core identity or values.”
