The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) has held another popular webinar, this time featuring Dave Elliott, Homebase Commercial and Marketing Director. The retailer is emerging from a major turnaround plan, delivering a £3.2m profit in the year to end December 2019.
Will Jones, Chief Operating Officer of BHETA, said: “It was great to have yet another key industry speaker bringing BHETA members up to speed with the opportunities available trading with leading retailers. Dave was very open with BHETA members; Homebase’s plans are exciting; and I’m not surprised we had a great turnout.”
Elliott’s presentation included an update on Homebase’s 10-year partnership with e-commerce specialist The Hut Group (THG). He also discussed the retailer’s new website launch in March this year.
The website now offers a range of interactive features, including 'before and after' pictures and design and style tools. Additionally, the new website features improved navigation, shoppable multi-product images, and new payment options including PayPal and Google Pay.
Homebase is also trialling new store formats as well as building on its smaller concept trials with its DECORATE by Homebase and new standalone kitchen and bathroom showrooms. Homebase has also formed a partnership with premium content business Hearst UK to work with magazine brands House Beautiful, Country Living and Good Housekeeping to create a new range of on-trend household and lifestyle licensed products, available from spring 2021.
More details of BHETA’s events programme, which includes several Meet The Buyer events and networking forums with leading retailers can also be found on the company website www.bheta.co.uk.
