The delayed 2020 edition of the Cologne International Hardware Fair now has a new date: 21-24 February 2021.
The Asia-Pacific Sourcing trade fair, which was planned for March 2021, is now to be integrated into the Hardware Fair.
All existing contracts with the exhibitors remain valid, according to the organisers. Hall occupancy for 2021 reflects the existing plans from 2020 on a 1:1 basis. Paid visitor tickets will be refunded automatically.
It will be business as usual in 2022, with the Hardware Fair returning to its traditional slot in the calendar.
This year's show was postponed with less than a week to go, as fears over the spread of coronavirus escalated. Key exhibitors pulled out of the show and the spread of the virus to Northern Italy appears to have prompted the organisers to make the final decision.
Cologne's Hardware Fair is not the only show to be postponed thanks to concerns over coronavirus - the Taiwan International Fastener Show was originally set to take place in April, but has been pushed back to October. Significant global shows in Europe - like the Geneva Motor Show - have been cancelled.
