US-based Women in the Fastener Industry association (WIFI) has launched four scholarships to provide funds for members to attend industry-related seminars, workshops and conventions.
The scholarships, open to WIFI members, are as follows:
Joanne Sherman E-Learning Scholarship (THORS eLEarning Solutions)
Honouring the memory of Joanne Goodman Sherman, co-owner of Industrial Rivet and Fastener, this scholarship will offer WIFI members requesting financial assistance to complete an online course through THORS eLearning Solutions - Online Training Specifically for Manufacturing and the Fastener Industry. THORS will provide courses specifically designed to successful applicants' needs.
Margaret Davis Scholarship (Fastener Fair)
WIFI honours the memory of Margaret Davis of ISSCO, INC/BTM Manufacturing with a new scholarship for 2020, provided by Fastener Fair USA. This scholarship application submission will offer WIFI members requesting financial assistance to attend Fastener Fair USA 2020 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Travel, accommodation and entrance to the show will be provided, with the recipient required to work the WIFI show booth.
Ann Bisgyer Wolz Scholarship (Fastener Training Institute)
This scholarship honours the memory of Ann Bisgyer Wolz, co-publisher of Fastener Industry News, and will provide financial assistance to WIFI members to attend the Fastener Training Institute. Class fees will be covered for the Certified Fastener Specialist course, or any other class of equal or lesser value.
Edith Cameron Scholarship (NIFMSE)
WIFI honours the memory of fastener industry pioneer Edith Cameron, who was inducted into the Fastener Hall of Fame in 1993. This scholarship offers WIFI members financial assistance to attend the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo in Las Vegas. Travel, accommodation and entrance to the show will be provided, and the recipient will participate in the WIFI event and show booth.
