The VHX-7000 is a 4K microscope – said to be the world’s first – from Keyence. The firm said the imaging resolution is so high it rivals that of a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).
The high definition ‘scope makes it possible to observe subtle contours and uneven surfaces or stains that were previously impossible to view, said Keyence.
The fully automated system uses one console from which to control all components, from adjusting focus to changing magnification.
Lens replacement has been designed out – by turning the relevant knob, magnification can switch between 20x to 6000x.
The VHX-7000 uses a 4K CMOS image sensor which is coupled with a newly developed imaging engine, NEO REMAX. The microscope also features a high-NA (0.9) HR lens and motorised revolver.
