Bülte has expanded its screw range with the addition of the nylon Slotted Capstan Screw DIN404 range.
The screw is composed of an enlarged cylindrical head with a straight slot on the top and two radial holes each side.
In comparison to the metallic DIN 404 usually available to the market, the new nylon fastener is lighter, cheaper and easier to recycle, and isn't subject to corrosion.
Bülte's Slotted Capstan Screws have a unique design in that two holes are bored through the side of the head at 90 degrees to one another and serving a dual purpose; the screw may be tightened by inserting a tee bar into the holes when it isn't possible to use a screwdriver, and locking wires can be attached to the cross holes to secure the screw.
Slotted Capstan Screws DIN 404 are designed to be either tightened or loosened from the side rather than the top by inserting a small bar into one of the side radial holes in the head. The screw is applicable in machine building and instrument making, as well as industrial sectors for bonding structural elements from various materials.
Design-wise, the standard colour of the new screw is natural nylon, however on request the range can be coloured as the customer wishes.
