Major manufacturer Norm Fasteners has taken a leading step in its digital transformation journey by implementing SAP advanced Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) module. With this move, the company believes it is the first in the sector to integrate this technology into cold forming production process.
Designed to deliver high-performance production planning, SAP PP/DS enables manufacturers to create optimised schedules by considering capacity constraints and real-time operational needs. Fully integrated with SAP S/4HANA, the system supports order-based production, enhances on-time delivery, and significantly boosts planning accuracy and efficiency.
"With the implementation of SAP PP/DS, we aim to make production planning more agile and responsive to dynamic customer demands,” said Selim Göksu, Head of Fasteners at Norm Fasteners. “The system enables detailed, capacity-aware scheduling tailored to product-specific operations, ensuring both punctual delivery and high production efficiency."
Göksu also emphasised the impact of reduced manual intervention: “By minimising manual steps in the planning process, we've accelerated decision-making and reduced error rates. The simulation and optimisation capabilities of SAP PP/DS allow us to manage short-term production planning faster and with greater precision. This marks a major step forward in our digitalization and optimisation efforts."
