KNIPEX Have introduced a new Pipe Cutter for Composite and Plastic Pipes. The new cutting tool from the Wuppertal-based tool manufacturer has a freely rotating cutting wheel that allows the pipe to be rotated with little friction when cutting, requires less effort and minimises deformation of the pipe.
With the new cutting tool, aluminium composite and plastic pipes can be cut much more easily than with conventional shears. A freely rotating cutting wheel enables the pipe to be rotated with little friction during cutting, which reduces the effort required by up to 60%. If the pipe is already installed or if pipe is processed from the roll, the pipe shears are swivelled around the pipe when cutting. The rotary/swivelling movement during cutting reduces the required pressure, minimising deformation of the composite pipe. Wide plastic supports mounted opposite the cutting wheel allow perfect right-angled cuts.
The pipe cutter cuts all common composite and plastic conduit pipes with diameters of up to 26 millimetres. Its construction means it is also suitable for composite pipes with increased aluminium layer thickness, such as Geberit Mepla. The replaceable cutting wheel is made of a special grade of chrome vanadium electric steel and is oil-hardened.
The tool is equipped with ergonomic multi-component grips. A locking mechanism ensures it can be safely transported. A replacement cutting wheel is also available.
