Keller & Kalmbach launches JV for fastener quality management

German fastener and fastening technology supplier Keller & Kalmbach has formed a joint venture with speciality engineering company LAW NDT.

The joint venture, MEXS Vertriebs GmbH, is 40% owned by Keller & Kalmbach. It aims to set new standards in modular measurement and testing technology for fasteners with the MEXS 400 testing system, a modular inspection system designed to inspect fasteners and other high-precision components.

Its main advantage is its exceptionally fast reconfiguration. The inspection stations, mounted on mobile trolleys, can be swapped out within minutes, while the tool-free exchange of material carriers enables seamless adjustments to inspection processes. This design enhances production flexibility, allowing companies to adapt their testing procedures without compromising productivity.

Test stations can be serviced without interrupting production, reducing downtime and enhancing efficiency.

“With the MEXS 400, we have developed a completely new generation of testing machines that offer maximum flexibility and efficiency. We have been able to incorporate more than 90% of the requirements of our customers, from machine operators to top management,” said Reza Mahllati, managing shareholder of LAW NDT.

Looking ahead, MEXS Vertriebs GmbH will expand its manufacturing capabilities to produce a larger volume of machines later this year.
