UK fasteners and fixings distributor Harrison & Clough has added new products to its MetalMate range, including screws and nuts.
The company said one of the key launches was GEOMET® 500, a socket cap screw developed for critical fasteners with an integral lubricant for coating them to assist in consistent tightening performance. This product also passed corrosion cyclic tests, protecting parts from rust even after mechanical damage, thanks to its self-healing properties.
Moreover, GEOMET® 500 also ensures no hydrogen embrittlement and can maintain performance at temperatures up to 300°C. It is also conductive and provides excellent galvanic protection, preventing bi-metallic corrosion in most industrial assemblies, including cast iron, carbon steel, and aluminium alloys.
Apart from GEOMET® 500, the company has also launched a wider range of Socket Cap Screws, now available in various sizes and lengths, providing superior strength, clamping and fatigue resistance. Manufactured from Grade 12.9 steel and compliant with DIN 912 standards, the screws are applicable to industries including tool making, steel fabrication, hydraulic, braking system, automotive and furniture manufacturing as they are easily tightened and have great strength.
The Socket Cap Screws feature high tensile strength and fatigue resistance, with diameters ranging from M6 to M16 and lengths from 12mm to 80mm. Precision-engineered, they come with a Zinc and Clear CR3+ coating for improved corrosion resistance.
Additionally, Socket Dome Screws were designed for applications requiring high strength and durability, such as automotive, machinery, electronics, construction and aerospace. Featuring a smooth, rounded head, these screws boast a rounded head which can distribute the load more evenly, making it ideal for use with softer materials.
Complementing the new additions were Full Nuts, which are now available in ISO 4032, Grade 8 specifications. These nuts have been heat-treated for increased strength and superior resistance to wear and deformation. With a protective Zinc & Clear CR3+ coating, they are ideal for securing bolts in demanding environments, including automotive, construction, and machinery applications.
