FTI to launch one-day classes for CFS students

The Fastener Training Institute (FTI) will introduce a series of one-day classes and plant tours throughout the year, allowing participants to become Certified Fastener Specialists™ (CFS).

Students pursuing a CFS through these individual classes have the flexibility to complete their training over time. Upon completion, they are eligible to take the test for CFS designation.

A series of classes will take place between May and December 2025:

• 1 May: Fastener Specifications and Terminology (CFS 1), Los Angeles, CA

• 15 July: Understanding the Bolted Joint (CFS 2), San Diego, CA

• 12 August: Dimensional and Material Specifications (CFS 3), Los Angeles, CA

• 9 October: Fastener Quality Assurance and Print Reading & Inspection (CFS 4), Los Angeles, CA

• 10 December: Fastener Manufacturing, Secondary Process Plant and Quality Lab Tours (CFS 5, 6 & 7), Los Angeles, CA

“This is an excellent solution for those unable to take a full week off for Fastener Training Week. CFS classes can be taken in any order and at any time,” said Jo Morris, Managing Director of the Fastener Training Institute.

Last month, the FTI announced an all-day training session at Fastener Fair USA.
