In August, the French DIY sector continued its upward trend, turning over 1.39% more than the same period last year.
Warmer weather over the summer helped to boost sales across the air-conditioning and fans segment, however building materials and wood ranges also reportedly improved.
The French industry association FMB commented on the figures of the Banque de France. "Of course, the inflation environment means that this growth has to be put into perspective," the association says. Volume sales were almost 4% lower than in August 2021, but compared to 2019, sales growth remains high and amounted to 9% in August.
