Tubtara®, the European brand of blind rivet nuts, is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.
Founded in 1901, ‘Etablissements Dejond Anvers’ started out as a small metal stockist, located in a residential neighbourhood in the south of Antwerp, Belgium. In 1954 Dejond launched the Tubtara® brand, marking a significant milestone in the company's history and paving the way for decades of innovation and excellence in manufacturing rivet nuts. Today, the company is a European rivet nut manufacturer, delivering high-quality solutions to its distributors worldwide, and an all-round fastener systems provider to the OEM markets in Benelux and France.
Tubtara® blind rivet nuts, Dejond’s flagship product, are used by fastener professionals across various industries, such as HVAC, truck & trailer, automotive, electronics and enclosures, battery packs and energy storage systems, railways, renewable energy, machinery, food & medical equipment. In 2014 Dejond received the EN 9100:2018 / AS 9100:D certification, important for their customers in aviation and defence.
Considerable investments in its Belgian production facilities helped strengthen the company’s position as a rivet nut innovator and solutions provider. Dejond’s robust cold forming production processes warrant a consistent quality and made the Tubtara® brand name synonymous with reliability, functional versatility, and outstanding mechanical performance. The product portfolio includes a wide range of standard and watertight rivet nuts, available from stock, and customised blind rivet nuts in various thread sizes, styles and materials.
Among the key innovations that have shaped Tubtara® are:
-Pioneering Cold Forming of Stainless Steel Rivet Nuts in Europe: In 1954 Tubtara® rivet nuts were still machined on a lathe, but in the sixties the factory switched to cold forming technology. In the eighties Dejond was the first manufacturer to introduce cold formed stainless steel rivet nuts to the market, setting a new standard for quality and durability.
-Bespoke Designs: Dejond’s R&D team offers technical support and engages to think along with the customer, in order to find the perfect fastener solution that meets their specific application requirements.
-Extensive Watertight Rivet Nut Range: With a comprehensive choice of either pre-applied under head sealants or mechanical O-ring seals in several compounds, each with their specific chemical, thermal and/or pressure resistance features, there is hardly any leakproof rivet nut connection we cannot supply.
-Rivet Nuts with Added Functionalities: Tubtara® customised blind rivet nuts can offer added functionalities such as a compression limiting or spacer function, increased spin-out (torque-to-turn) resistance, threads lock, electrical grounding or EM shielding.
