Stax & Primeur agree distribution deal on recycled range

Primeur, a producer of garden products manufactured from recycled rubber, will see its range of environmentally-friendly stepping stones, garden edging and planters distributed through Stax Trade Centre’s UK network.

According to Stax’s purchasing director Simon Wright, Primeur was the first company to introduce washable doormats into the UK back in 1995.

“We’re delighted to add the results of their innovative approach to our product portfolio,” he said. “Products with strong environmental credentials are increasingly popular with our customers and being made from recycled vehicle tyres places the Primeur range firmly in that category, as well as creating products that are also durable and virtually indestructible.”

Primeur’s garden edging, stepping stones and planters are resistant to cracking, fading, staining and rotting, and are non-toxic and lawn-mower safe. The products add to Stax’s 6,000-strong range of gardening lines offered to national retail groups and independent retailers.

Wright continued: “This is a sector of the market where we have been experiencing considerable growth as we continue to improve our offering. Our customers will now be able to access Primeur products and enjoy all the benefits of buying from Stax, such as competitive wholesale prices, flexible minimum orders which can be made up from any Stax product lines, a generous rebate scheme, a reliable delivery service and online order management.”

Primeur has earned several industry accolades in recent years, including the GIMA Sword of Excellence and the Glee Best New Product.

Sales director Jenny Douthwaite revealed the company had not worked with a distribution partner before, and felt working with Stax was the next logical step in the firm’s development, adding: “Partnering with Stax will help us to get our proposition across to an even wider range of customers and increase our levels of success. We are looking forward to Stax supporting our customers in a way we haven’t previously been able to, particularly in terms of a lower minimum order quantity and greater exposure through their UK stores.

“It is also great to partner with a company that recognises and appreciates the importance of bringing to market more environmentally friendly and sustainable ranges.”
