SPIROL launches new 2024 aluminium press-in inserts

SPIROL has expanded its product lineup with a range of 2024 aluminium press-in inserts.

The aluminium press-in inserts are available in symmetrical (Series INS 50) and headed (INS 51) versions, complementing the existing brass line. Both new products are designed with threaded inserts, which are essential for reinforcing plastic components.

Moreover, threaded inserts provide a reusable thread within a bolted assembly. These characteristics ensure a proper seating torque and prevents the potential for plastic creep over time that could otherwise compromise the performance of the assembly.

Both INS 50 and INS 51 are designed to be pressed in without heat, which can provide the lowest cost to install with acceptable joint performance for many applications.

As the 2024 aluminium grade is lead-free, the new products can address evolving environmental health and safety concerns associated with lead content in machined products.

Additionally, while brass remains the industry standard for machining due to its material properties, 2024 aluminium offers distinct lightweight advantages at one-third the weight.
