Speedy Fixings Ltd has appointed Shaun Cook as Managing Director with immediate effect.
Cook took over the position from Kevin Burgess, former Managing Director and Founder of the company. The appointment of Cook marked the culmination of a 12-month process, which has seen Burgess gradually stepping back and Shaun taking on more control of the day-to-day running of the business.
“I believe that Shaun has the skills, vision, and tenacity to continue growing the business, and I have no doubt that he will bring the same work ethic to the role as I do. I know he is committed to ensuring that the best customer service and attention to detail is provided throughout the company, a value which will continue to be the most important focus for us in the years ahead,” said Burgess.
After the transition, Burgess will continue to work for the company, mainly “helping with the online side of the business”.
Cook joined the company in 2014, responsible for general sales, delivery driving and working as a warehouse and workshop assistant. He became a shareholder and director in 2021.
“My hope is that I can continue to lead the team to further develop our product range, as well as sustain existing and forging new partnerships, ensuring our clients have everything they need to get their projects across the line,” he said.
Speedy Fixings Ltd, based in Colchester, is a UK manufacturer and supplier of screws, bolts, metalwork, hand tools and accessories to the construction industry. Established in 1999, the company employs 12 people now.
