Würth Group reports sales decline in 2024

The Würth Group has announced its preliminary financial results for 2024, reporting a sales decline of 0.9% due to the weak economy. The company’s sales for the year totalled EUR 20.2 billion, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 0.9%, or 0.4% when adjusted for currency effects.

As a result of lower sales volumes and higher costs, the group’s preliminary operating result stood at EUR 900 million, falling below the previous year’s level. The persistently weak economic conditions, particularly in the manufacturing sector, negatively impacted the group’s sales performance.

In Germany, the Würth Group’s domestic market, the company reported sales of EUR 8 billion, representing a decline of 4%. Outside Germany, the group achieved modest sales growth, partly driven by acquisitions. Key regions contributing to this growth included Southern Europe, Eastern Europe, and South America.

“In 2024, we stuck to our countercyclical strategy and invested when others scaled back. Our focus remains on ensuring goods availability and maintaining delivery readiness for our more than four million customers worldwide,” said Robert Friedmann, Chairman of the Central Management Board of the Würth Group.
