Two market leaders, HBM and Brüel & Kjær, have joined forces to create HBK – Hottinger Brüel & Kjær – to form an important provider of integrated test, measurement, control, and simulation solutions.
HBK provides a complete portfolio of solutions across the test and measurement product life cycle, that unite the physical world of sensors, testing and measurement with the digital world of simulation, modelling software and analysis. By creating a scalable and open data acquisition hardware, software and simulation ecosystem, product developers can cut time-to-market, drive innovation and take the lead in a highly competitive global marketplace.
Low uncertainty for comparison measurements up to 20 MN
HBK has developed a low uncertainty for comparison measurements up to 20 meganewton. This transfer standard achieves class 00 according to ISO 376.
To help test houses and laboratories improve their measuring capabilities, HBK has launched the C5 reference force sensor range which can be used for comparisons between calibration systems or as a reference transducer for hydraulic force generating calibration machines.
The sensors can be adjusted to suit the forces to be measured and users are offered a choice between a cable or a plug to make integration easier. An optional transducer electronic datasheet (TEDS) provides guidance on adjustments to the sensors.
The C5 achieves class 00 under the ISO 376 standard, between the measurement range 40 and 100 % of its nominal force covering large capacities between 5 MN and 20 MN. This ensures the calibrated instruments, used for the verification of uniaxial testing machines, provide accurate results.
HBK also offers a complete range of solutions for reference measurement technology within the high-load range, including world-leading high precision amplifiers and high-end calibration services.
