RAD Torque Systems acquires 60,000 sq ft new facility in BC, Canada

RAD Torque Systems has acquired a new 60,000 ft² facility, approximately 1.6 times the size of its current premises.

Scheduled to open in late 2020, the state-of-the-art facility is located close to the manufacturer's roots in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

The new site means all employees will be able to operate under one roof, and for RAD to meet with potential clients, customers and distributors in one central area.

“We’re going to stay building in Canada, we’re proud Canadians,” said Dan Provost, President of RAD Torque Systems. “Everything is manufactured here and that’s not going to change. We’ve expanded our facility, we’re going to hire more Canadians and keep our business in Abbotsford and make our country proud.”

Pat McFadden, Vice President of Operations, added: “What this facility means to us is that we have much more space for our equipment, which means we can create more product faster. It’s going to help us with our lead times for everybody, so that they’re going to get their product faster.”

Provost started the company over 25 years ago out of his garage: “The popularity of the RAD product just grew so much in the last couple of years. Working out of my garage, I was proud of the product, I knew I had something good on my hands, but I never expected the presence I have in the market now.”

The torque wrench manufacturer celebrated its 25th year of business in 2019. Since its foundation, the Canadian manufacturer has gone on to produce pneumatic, battery powered and electric pistol grip torque wrenches, producing thousands of torque wrenches and torque accessories every year and used in sectors including aerospace, rail, wind energy and oil & gas, among others.
