Stahlwille's electromechanical Torsiotronic torque screwdriver has been awarded Gold in the German Design Award 2020, due to its 'functionality and its ergonomic and innovative concept'.
The Gold award honours outstanding achievements in international design, given to only one product in each award category. With the Torsiotronic screwdriver, Stahlwille combined functionality and ergonomics with an aesthetically pleasing design in order to win the award.
The Torsiotronic is, Stahwille claims, the world's first electromechanical torque screwdriver and is equipped with a patented mechanism. Once the preset torque has been reached, the tool triggers with audible and tactile signals, giving the user the unmistakable 'click and slip' stop signal.
According to Stahwille, the advantages of the electromechanical screwdriver include: processing dependability, accuracy, a built-in fine-tooth ratchet with a ratchet angle of just 4.5 degrees, several programming options and a micro-USB port.
This enables the Torsiotronic to meet the demands of logging operations, applications when low torques are to be applied and applications where complex tightening sequences have to be adhered to.
In April 2018, the Torsiotronic screwdriver also won a prestigious Red Dot Design award in the product design category for many of the same reasons; its functionality, ergonomic design and underlying innovative concept.
