NORMA Group has singled out Thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe for its Supplier Recognition Award for the EMEA region.
Thyssenkrupp was recognised for its "outstanding achievements" in product quality, reliability, logistics, financial stability and sustainability in 2018. The assessment covered the Mannheim branch and other manufacturing sites in Central Europe.
Dr Friedrich Klein, NORMA Group COO, said of the decision: "We want to provide our customers with joining solutions of impeccable quality at all times. This is what drives us to continuously improve ourselves.
"We are delighted to have Thyssenkrupp at our side as a committed partner who promises and upholds high quality standards. Thyssenkrupp has repeatedly shown that customer orientation is its top priority."
For over 10 years, Thyssenkrupp has supplied NORMA with corrosion-protected steel and stainless steel strips to be used at several sites to produce metal clamps, such as hose clamps and exhaust gas clamps.
The firm supplies the steel strips in the form of traverse wound coils, among other forms, which gives the strips a particularly long running metre length and in turn enables NORMA to produce more efficiently with shorter set up times.
NORMA has been presenting the Supplier Recognition Award to outstanding suppliers since 2014, with assessment based on a systematic rating comprised of numerous criteria. The company also bases its selection of suppliers on other sustainability criteria such as compliance with human and employee rights, safety in the workplace, and environmental and ethical aspects.
Last month, NORMA awarded Precision Metal Services with the Supplier Recognition Award for the Americas Region.
