St Albans will get the UK's first Bunnings Warehouse, due to open in mid-February 2017.
As revealed at this month's BHETA Networking Forum, the St Albans store will be the first of four pilot stores, which will be open by the end of June 2017. Bunnings UK and Ireland MD PJ Davis spoke at the event and detailed the phasing out of the Homebase brand.
Around £500 million will be spent by Bunnings transforming the Homebase business and adding new stores.
Previously the company confirmed it would ramp up its online engagement with customers and place a greater emphasis on 'Always Low Prices' rather than sales that 'come and go' as seen previously at Homebase.
