Henkel invests €130 million in new Global Innovation Centre

Global manufacturer, Henkel, has laid the foundations for its new Adhesives Technologies Innovation Centre at its Düsseldorf HQ.

The company is set to invest more than €130 million in the new state-of-the-art building, in a bid to enhance the development of new technologies and applications across a range of industries.

Spanning 50,000 square metres, The building will act as a global customer centre where Henkel can present solutions for adhesives, sealants and functional coatings. The centre will provide additional facilities to the manufacturer's UK headquarters in Hemel Hempstead, and will be able to provide customers with tailor-made solutions.

Across its seven storeys, the building will contain a number of laboratories and research and testing facilities, as well as extensive office space and conference rooms. The building will house around 350 staff from R&D, product development, application technology and service who currently work in various buildings across the Düsseldorf site.

Planned to open at the end of 2020, the modular design of the Innovation Centre will allow it to grow over time, if and when expansion is required.

Henkel operates worldwide with leading innovations, brands, and technologies in three business areas: Adhesive Technologies, Beauty Care, and Laundry and Home Care.
