NORMA Group's CFO Dr Michael Schneider becomes CEO

Dr Michael Schneider has taken on permanent CEO duties at NORMA Group, having served as interim CEO since August.

Dr Schneider takes on the role while also handling CFO duties, which he has worked as since joining the company in July 2015, until further notice.

His CEO predecessor Bernd Kleinhens stepped down from the Management Board by mutual agreement on 31 July 2019.

“We are pleased that Dr. Michael Schneider has accepted the appointment as Chief Executive Officer," said Lars Magnus Berg, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NORMA Group SE. "We are convinced that he will be successful in further developing NORMA Group,” “With this appointment, we are expressing our confidence in Dr. Michael Schneider and look forward to working with him in the future.”

Prior to joining NORMA, Dr Schneider held management positions with various companies in the automobile and chemical industry as well as in medical technology in Germany and overseas.

Lars Magnus Berg, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NORMA Group SE, added: “I am convinced that Dr. Michael Schneider will strengthen and further extend NORMA Group’s strong position as an international market leader for engineered and standardized joining technology and fluid handling systems even through difficult times.”

As it currently stands, NORMA's Management Board consists of two members. Dr. Friedrich Klein, Chief Operating Officer (COO), is the other member of the Management Board.

NORMA recently launched its transformation 'get on track' programme, designed to "position itself more efficiently in today's volatile times".
