Ambrovit: a period of renewal and revolution

While the pandemic has sent shockwaves through industry supply chains around the globe, European wholesaler Ambrovit has deemed this period one of ‘renewal and revolution’ as it adapts to conquer the challenges presented.

“When the going gets tough, the tough get going” is a phrase coined the world over, and one which Italian bolt and screw wholesaler Ambrovit has put into practice in recent months. At a difficult time, where everything has become more complicated as a result of the Covid‐19 pandemic, Ambrovit believes it has summoned the determination to face the situation in a constructive manner.

The distributor’s management team, drawing on all its skills, worked as a team with renewed commitment to immediately realise that new organisational, operational and management approaches were called for. After a preliminary experimental phase, these changes have given such significant results that they are planned to become permanent in the future.

At the start of the outbreak, Ambrovit took prompt and rigorous actions to safeguard the health of its staff, while implementing new technologies for production logistics. The firm’s main technical innovation involved a new automatic system for quality control management of incoming materials, which are pre‐processed, checked and then put up for sale.

The technological improvements have commenced at the same pace as the research and development of new products, which are to be added to the already wide range in the wholesaler’s catalogue. In response to much demand within the market, Ambrovit has added new types of bolts, substantially increasing the range already on offer for this type of product.

Additionally, after careful product analysis and a series of control and verification procedures, Ambrovit can now offer its clients various types of rivets in a whole range of different sizes. The catalogue has also seen the addition of new, patented high‐performance screws for concrete, which are ETA certified and feature a special thread that allows them to be fixed directly onto the material.

The wholesaler has also seen important successes relating to its after‐sales service. Until now, Ambrovit customers have been able to rely on fast delivery of all products in the catalogue, with its order verification procedure and punctuality in shipping and delivery. Now, customers will also be able to access an after‐sales service with qualified staff available to assist them with information on how to use or apply its products, as well as provide advice on which products are most appropriate for their needs.

According to Ambrovit, this has been a period of both renewal and ‘revolution’ which has been tried, tested, and successfully implemented in the face of the impacts of Covid‐19. As a result, the wholesaler now considers 2020 as a year of transition, in which the structure of its ‘springboard’ has been strengthened to make an active contribution to market recovery in this sector.
