China Fastener Show 2020 launches online exhibition

August 10, 2020 saw the launch of China Fastener Show (Online) and the Zhejiang Haiyan Online Export Fair which included more than 200 companies participating.

In previous years, over 1,000 international buyers registered for the Chinese Fastener Show from roughly 35 countries and regions including the United States, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Japan, Turkey and Australia.

The exhibition will feature face-to-face purchase meetings, keynote speeches, cloud factory visiting, and live broadcasts. The purchasing meeting aims to reduce the impact of Covid-19 on offline exhibitions. It is foreseeable that this will be a new industry cloud exhibition integrating exhibition, negotiation, communication and learning.

Subprefect of Haiyan County, Mr. Zhang Liang, stated that the emergence of Covid-19 has largely impacted the global economy and many exhibitions have been cancelled or postponed. For example, the Taiwan International Fastener Show has been postponed to September 2021. He adds that the traditional channels for foreign trade have been blocked, and normal international economic and trade exchanges have been greatly affected.

The online exhibitions were sponsored by Haiyan County People's Government, Jiaxing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, organised by Haiyan County Commerce Bureau, Zhejiang Fastener Industry Association, and supported by www.chinafastener.com.

Haiyan County is one of the main production bases of fasteners in China and is home to more than 700 fastener companies exporting to more than 100 countries and regions. 30 of these companies have an export value of more than US$5 million where the annual export value of fastener products reached US$600 million, accounting for 10% of China’s fastening exports.
