Spruce Computer Systems has been acquired by ECi Software Solutions, becoming part of ECi’s LBMH division (lumber, building materials and hardware), led by John Maiuri.
Spruce has been a reseller of ECi’s merchant software solutions for almost 20 years, supplying to timber, hardware and building materials businesses in the UK.
The acquisition cements that relationship, but also creates an official UK presence for ECi’s LBMH division and continues ECi’s global expansion. It’s ECi’s second international acquisition of the month, on the heels of the purchase of Australia’s Pacsoft.
“ECi’s acquisition of Spruce Computer Systems Ltd. symbolises not only our continued focus on and investment in our LBMH division, but also our dedication to serving the UK market,” said Ron Books, CEO of ECi. “We have worked collaboratively with the Spruce Computer Systems Ltd team for quite some time and know that they will be invaluable assets to our team as we look to help lumber and building materials dealers using Spruce grow profitably and sustainably.”
Spruce Computer Systems director Chris Fisher added: “We have long respected ECi for its commitment to both understanding and supporting the issues that building, timber and plumbing merchants face running their businesses. As a testament to that, the very first customer we brought on over two decades ago is still with us. That kind of established trust and relationship is so rare today and makes us extremely proud to officially join the ECi family.”
