Power-Fast II chipboard screw wins fischer a Red Dot Award

The fischer group has picked up a Red Dot Award: Product Design 2020 for its new chipboard screw Power-Fast II.
It's not the first time that fischer has been awarded a Red Dot - last year it won one for its Duoblade fixing.
The chipboard screw fischer Power-Fast II convinced the international jury with its wide range of possible applications and a holistic design concept, the Power-Fast II won over the esteemed jury. fischer said it's the first time a single high-performance chipboard screw has covered such a wide range of applications. The Power-Fast II can be used for all wood-wood and wood-metal connections as well as with tested loads in fischer plastic dowels. It ensures high load capacities and accelerates assembly with its quick bite and short screw-in time.
All technical peculiarities, such as the thread, end mill and under-head geometry are optimally coordinated and fit into a coherent overall design. In addition, traditional features of the screw, such as the “pulling cut” or the “thread cutting”, are being transformed to produce the new product.
"In parallel to its current market launch, our new Power-Fast II chipboard screw has received multiple awards," says Michael Geiszbühl, Managing Director of Sales and Marketing Fastening Systems at fischer. "We are very proud to have received the Red Dot in the 'Red Dot Award: Product Design' for our new product after the German Design Award."
For the “Red Dot Award: Product Design 2020”, more than 6,500 products from designers and companies from 60 countries were submitted. The judges assessed the entries on aesthetics, the selected materials, processing, surface structure, ergonomics and functionality were also assessed.
