Atlas Copco snaps up German industrial production business

Atlas Copco has acquired a German company specialized in positioning technology for assembly tools used in industrial production.

The assets of the 2010-founded NATEV GmbH were acquired for an undisclosed sum.

NATEV has ten employees and is located in Borken, in north-western Germany. In 2019, the company’s sales amounted to approximately €1 m (10.4 MSEK) and in 2020 approximately €0.5 m (MSEK 5.2).

NATEV develops systems for real-time positioning and imaging solutions in close cooperation with key customers in the automotive industry. Products include hardware and software used to monitor and error proof defined production steps linked to the tightening processes.

“Through NATEV’s solutions we will be able to expand our offering of positioning solutions,” said Henrik Elmin, Business Area President Industrial Technique, “This is an important technology to enable flexible production in line with the Industry 4.0 vision.”

The business will be integrated into Atlas Copco's MVI Tools and Assembly Systems Division in the Industrial Technique Business Area.

Atlas Copco recently launched a new application (ALTURE) which harnesses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to identify risks in production before they occur.
